Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 28: As Phase IV of the dual elections approaches in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a scathing critique against the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Expressing confidence in the BJP’s potential to secure a majority in the Odisha Assembly and assume governance, PM Modi asserted his readiness to prioritize Odisha’s welfare over personal relationships.

In an interview with ANI on Tuesday, PM Modi emphasized his commitment to Odisha’s progress, even if it meant sacrificing his rapport with Naveen Patnaik. Acknowledging past cooperation between the BJP, the Union government, and the BJD, PM Modi highlighted the need to focus on Odisha’s future prosperity. He affirmed, “If I must sever ties with Naveen Patnaik to advance Odisha’s brighter future, I am prepared to do so… Post-elections, I will reconcile with all, demonstrating my lack of animosity towards anyone.”

Simultaneously, PM Modi accused a faction of monopolizing Odisha’s governance and holding the Chief Minister captive. He expressed optimism that Odisha would flourish once liberated from this control.
PM Modi lamented Odisha’s persistent poverty despite its abundant natural resources, attributing this disparity to the BJD-led state government’s governance. Encouraging the electorate to reclaim their rights, PM Modi urged Odisha’s citizens to usher in change by ousting the incumbent government.

With confidence in the BJP’s momentum in Odisha, PM Modi declared, “The clock is ticking for the current Odisha government, set to expire on June 4. On June 10, a BJP Chief Minister will assume office.”
