Second phase election nomination commences in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), April 26: The commencement of the nomination process for the second phase of elections in Odisha marks a crucial milestone in the state’s electoral calendar. On May 20, five Lok Sabha constituencies and 35 Assembly seats are set to undergo polling.

Among the Lok Sabha constituencies slated for polling are Bargarh, Bolangir, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, and Aska. Simultaneously, voting for the 35 Assembly seats falling within these five Lok Sabha constituencies will also take place.

As per the schedule, the deadline for filing nomination papers for the second phase polls in Odisha is May 3. Subsequently, the scrutiny of nomination papers will occur on May 4, with the final date for withdrawal of nomination forms set for May 6.

Notably, the nomination filing process for the first phase polls concluded on April 25. As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) notification, the first phase polls in Odisha encompass four Lok Sabha constituencies – Kalahandi, Berhampur, Koraput, and Nabarangpur – along with 28 Assembly seats.
