Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 25: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik showcased a massive sand sculpture on Saturday at Puri Beach in Odisha, aiming to raise awareness about the ongoing voting process.

Covering an expansive area of 2,000 square feet, Pattnaik crafted a sand sculpture with the message “Chunab ka Parba, Desh ka Garv” (Festival of Elections, Pride of the Nation), emphasizing the significance of voting. Incorporating mangoes, a popular summer fruit, into the artwork, he sought to engage voters during the ongoing elections for six Lok Sabha and 42 assembly segments.

Utilizing approximately 5 quintals of mangoes for the intricate creation, Pattnaik dedicated around five hours to complete the sculpture, with assistance from students at his institute.

This initiative follows Pattnaik’s previous endeavor on March 10, where he raised awareness among first-time voters with the message “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” (My First Vote for the Nation), through another sand art installation at Puri beach.

Pattnaik’s overarching goal is to inspire young voters, highlighting the pivotal role of voting in shaping the future of the country. With over 65 international sand art competitions and festivals under his belt, he continues to bring recognition to Odisha on the global stage.
