Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 28:  Police today arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of a poultry farm owner in Jharsuguda, Odisha. The arrested suspects—Imran, Shahbaz Khan, Ijaz Khan, and Wasim—were found in possession of a country-made revolver, 18 live rounds of ammunition, and a two-wheeler.

The victim, Shahjahan Khan, aged 26, operated a chicken farm in the Mangal Bazar area of Jharsuguda. He was fatally shot by the accused on Monday in the Beherapat area, falling under Jharsuguda Sadar police jurisdiction. The murder stemmed from a business rivalry between Imran and Shahjahan, according to Jharsuguda SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas.

Following the crime, Imran and Ijaz transported Shahjahan’s body in a car and discarded it near Rengali. When Shahjahan did not return home that night, his family reported him missing to the local police. Shahjahan’s body was recovered near midnight on Tuesday.

The four accused have been charged and are currently in judicial custody.
