Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 18: Odisha is anticipated to face heavy to very heavy rainfall until July 22, driven by a fresh low-pressure system forming over the central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to intensify and move northwestwards towards the Odisha coast within the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The monsoon trough currently extends through regions including Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Mandla, Pendra Road, Odisha’s Gopalpur, and further southeastwards towards the center of the low-pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal.
Bhubaneswar has already experienced intermittent heavy rainfall, prompting the IMD to issue an orange warning valid until July 20. Extremely heavy rainfall is forecasted for South Odisha on July 19.
