Global Microsoft outage disrupts flight services at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 19: A global Microsoft outage has significantly disrupted services at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport. Millions of Windows users worldwide are encountering errors due to a recent CrowdStrike update, which Microsoft is investigating.

The outage has impacted various sectors, with notable disruptions in flight services. Airlines such as IndiGo, Akasa Air, Vistara, and SpiceJet are experiencing issues. Flight bookings and check-ins at the Bhubaneswar airport have been affected, leading to manual processing of services and delays in both arriving and departing flights.

IndiGo tweeted about the situation, stating, “Our systems are currently impacted by a Microsoft outage, affecting booking, check-in, and boarding processes.” SpiceJet also reported, “We are experiencing technical challenges with our service provider, impacting online services. We have activated manual check-in and boarding and advise passengers to arrive earlier than usual.”

The outage is not confined to India; it has also been reported in America, London, Australia, Germany, and other countries. Additionally, banking services and railway operations in India have been severely affected.
