Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 25: (heavy rainfall) Odisha is set to experience heavy rainfall for two days due to the influence of a low-pressure area over the Westcentral and adjacent Northwest Bay of Bengal, near the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts. Although this system has moved west-northwestward and has become less marked, its effects will still be felt across the region.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in several districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Jajpur, Cuttack, and Khurda on September 25.

Additionally, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at most places in North Odisha and many locations in South Odisha. On September 26, heavy rain may persist in isolated areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh, while light to moderate rain could occur statewide. Although no significant weather warnings are anticipated afterward, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may continue in Odisha until October 1, according to the weather agency.
