Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Friday that a Low-Pressure area has developed over southeast Bangladesh and its surrounding regions. This system formed due to a cyclonic circulation and was located over the same area as of 5:30 am.
The Low-Pressure area is expected to move slowly west-northwestward and may intensify into a Depression over coastal West Bengal and the adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.
The IMD has issued warnings for Odisha, forecasting isolated very heavy rainfall on September 13-14 and general heavy rainfall from September 13 to 15.
Weather Warnings for September 13:
Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in isolated areas of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning may occur at isolated locations in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Jajpur, Bargarh, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Balasore, and Bhadrak.
Weather Warnings for September 14:
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated areas of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Sundargarh.
