IMD forecasts heavy rain across Odisha for next two days

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 1: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted continued heavy rain in several parts of Odisha over the next two days, with light to moderate rain expected across most of the state for the coming week.

On Thursday, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is anticipated in Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, and Sambalpur districts. The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued an orange warning for these districts, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Deogarh, and Sundargarh, for the next 24 hours.

A yellow warning has also been issued for several other districts, indicating that heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely at one or two locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Balangir.

Additionally, a yellow warning for heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) has been extended to Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Bargarh.
