IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Odisha for next five days

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 25: Despite recent heavy rainfall in various parts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the state will continue to experience significant rainfall for the next five days.

In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar announced that Odisha will see ongoing light to moderate rain and thundershowers across most regions for at least a week. The IMD issued a yellow warning indicating heavy to very heavy rain (ranging from 7 to 20 cm) for 22 districts over the next 24 hours.

The areas expected to experience heavy to very heavy rain include Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, and Bargarh. Additionally, heavy rain (ranging from 7 to 11 cm) is forecasted for Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Balasore, Jajpur, and Puri.

July 26: Yellow Warning for heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20 cm) in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Bargarh. Heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sonepur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Jajpur, and Boudh.

July 27: Yellow Warning for heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, and Jajpur.

July 28: Yellow Warning for heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

July 29: Yellow Warning for heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) in Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Kendrapada.
