Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 10: Rainfall intensity in Odisha has decreased as the weather system has weakened and moved into North Chhattisgarh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the depression over North Chhattisgarh and adjacent areas of Odisha shifted west-northwest at 20 kmph over the past six hours, and by 8:30 am, it was centered over North Chhattisgarh, approximately 70 km east-southeast of Bilaspur, 140 km northeast of Raipur, and 220 km east of Malanjkhand.
The IMD anticipates that the system will continue moving west-northwest, weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh by evening.
For September 10, the IMD has issued a warning for isolated heavy rainfall in Sundargarh, Bargarh, and Jharsuguda. Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar over the next 24 hours.
On September 12, isolated heavy rain with thunderstorms may return to Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, with thunderstorms likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur.
Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms may persist at isolated locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh on September 13, with similar conditions expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
The weather pattern may continue with isolated heavy rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh on September 14.
