Indian legislators shine at NCSL Legislative Summit 2024 in Kentucky

New Delhi, Aug 13: In a landmark event for global legislative dialogue, a delegation of 50 Indian legislators attended the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. This visit was part of a collaboration between the National Legislators’ Conference (NLC) Bharat, an initiative led by Shri Rahul V. Karad, and the NCSL.

The NCSL Legislative Summit 2024 showcased prominent Indian legislators who made significant contributions to global legislative discussions. Notable attendees included AN Shamseer (Speaker of Kerala), UT Khader Fareed (Speaker of Karnataka), Thomas A. Sangma (Speaker of Meghalaya), Kultar Singh Sandhwan (Speaker of Punjab), and Rudrappa Manappa Lamani (Deputy Speaker of Karnataka).
They were joined by other esteemed figures such as Alexander Laloo Hek, Marcuse N. Marak, Charles Pyngrope, Dr. Mohammed Mizanur Rahman Kazi, Rupert Momin, Wailadmiki Shylla from Meghalaya, Dr. Sukhato Akhavi Sema from Nagaland, and Vivek Gupta from West Bengal. Their diverse participation brought valuable perspectives to the summit.

Marcuse N. Marak, Minister of Soil and Water Conservation from Meghalaya, expressed his enthusiasm: “Attending this remarkable conference in the USA has expanded our understanding of global legislative practices. The platform created by Rahul Karad has been instrumental in fostering collaboration and addressing legislative challenges. I look forward to applying these insights to advance sustainable practices and effective governance in Meghalaya.”
