Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 18: Odia author Baishnab Charan Samal is set to receive the prestigious Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award 2024 for his remarkable book, ‘Bhuti Bhakti Bibhuti,’ which has been recognized in the Essays category. This award highlights Samal’s literary prowess and the significance of his work in contemporary Odia literature.
‘Bhuti Bhakti Bibhuti’ has been acclaimed as a profound literary contribution, exploring the concept of Jagannath consciousness and advocating for universal religious acceptance of Lord Jagannath. The book offers an extended spiritual interpretation that resonates deeply with readers and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.
In 2023, Ashutosh Parida received the Sahitya Akademi Award in the Poetry category for his work ‘Aprastuta Mrutyu.’ The Sahitya Akademi also honored two other Odia authors earlier this year; Manas Ranjan Samal received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar, while Sanjay Kumar Panda was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.
