Low-pressure area likely over Bay of Bengal, IMD issues rain warning for Odisha

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 2: (Low-pressure)A low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and its neighboring regions around October 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Wednesday. This is due to an upper air circulation currently over southeast Bangladesh and the surrounding areas.

As a result, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in various parts of Odisha throughout the week, with a yellow warning issued for two days. On October 2, a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning has been issued for isolated places in districts including Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, and others.

Bhubaneswar may experience partly cloudy skies with occasional spells of rain or thundershowers.

The thunderstorm and lightning warning continues on October 3 for districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Cuttack. Light to moderate rain is expected in coastal Odisha and nearby regions. No weather warnings are forecasted thereafter, though rain may persist in some areas.
