Minister Krushna Chandra Patra inspects rice mill amid irregularity allegations

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 3: (Minister Krushna Chandra Patra)Odisha’s Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra, conducted surprise inspections at a rice mill and a godown in Boudh district on Thursday. Accompanied by senior officials, the minister’s visits were prompted by allegations of irregularities concerning the quality and quantity of rice supplied by both the mill and the godown, which operates under the Private Entrepreneur Guarantee (PEG) Scheme.

During the inspections, Minister Patra closely examined the facilities and reviewed the processes involved in rice production and storage. Following the inspections, he ordered a comprehensive probe into the allegations, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the distribution of essential commodities. He directed officials to submit their reports within a specified timeframe.

Patra assured the public that if the allegations were substantiated, appropriate action would be taken against those responsible. His proactive approach highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of food supply systems and safeguarding consumer interests in Odisha.
