murder: Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by a youth after she rejected his advances at Lingapada village under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Jyotirmayee Rana, was reportedly alone at home when the accused slit her throat, leading to her tragic death. When her family members returned, they found her in a pool of blood and rushed her to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
As per sources, the accused had been stalking and harassing the woman for some time. A complaint regarding his behavior had been lodged at the Soro police station just two days ago. Police suspect that the crime was committed out of one-sided love and rejection.
A team from Soro police station reached the scene and initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused, who fled after committing the crime. The incident has sparked outrage in the village, with locals demanding strict action against the culprit.
