Nandan Kanan Express: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 5: The Railways initiated an investigation on Tuesday following reports of gunfire aimed at the Nandan Kanan Express near Charampa station in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. According to sources, at least two shots were fired at the train close to Gate No. 119, adjacent to the station.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) issued a statement indicating that the guard of the 12816 Anand Vihar-Puri Express reported that the window of the guard van had been struck by a projectile. The incident occurred around 9:30 am in the Bhadrak-Baudpur section of Odisha. In response, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel secured the train and escorted it safely to Puri. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Sources revealed that the train had departed from Bhadrak station at approximately 9:25 am, with the firing incident occurring shortly thereafter. The Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the shooting, which resulted in a shattered window on the train.
