Naveen Patnaik: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 2: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik launched a sharp criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, accusing it of coming to power in Odisha by spreading false promises and lies.
Speaking during the launch of the annual Jan Sampark Padayatra in Bhubaneswar on Gandhi Jayanti, Patnaik emphasized that the BJD always stands by the people and works earnestly for development while upholding the state’s self-respect.
In his attack, the former Chief Minister stated that while the BJP-led government might change names and colours, it cannot alter Odisha’s history, as people are well aware of the truth. He specifically questioned BJP’s unfulfilled promises, including 300 units of free electricity and providing ₹50,000 to women.
Patnaik also criticized the BJP for failing to control the rising prices of essential commodities, asserting that the people of Odisha are seeing the party’s true face.
