Nayagarh Political Clash: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 13: Four individuals, including a close aide of senior BJD leader Arun Sahoo, have been arrested in connection with a brutal attack on a family in Chandibasta village, Nayagarh district, Odisha. The incident occurred on Monday under the jurisdiction of Nayagarh Town police station, where four members of the family were critically injured in what is believed to be a politically motivated attack by BJD supporters.
According to initial reports, Samir Biswal, a close associate of former Minister Arun Sahoo, was among those arrested. Police made the arrests after conducting raids at various locations. The attack is said to have been carried out by several BJD workers, allegedly over political rivalry with the family, who are supporters of the BJP. The victims were attacked with sharp weapons, leading to serious injuries.
The injured family members were initially taken to Nayagarh hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar as their condition worsened. Locals indicated that the attack stemmed from ongoing political and financial disputes between the two factions, which had led to previous altercations.
