Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Delhi to address the ongoing potato supply issue, as announced on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle. Both Chief Ministers are in Delhi for the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for Saturday.
In his tweet, CM Majhi, writing in Odia, stated, “Met Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss the potato supply problem in Odisha. The process of importing potatoes from West Bengal to Odisha has now been regularized.”
He further added, “To address this temporary issue, the Food Supplies Minister has reviewed the situation at the godown and assessed the matter.” CM Majhi assured that the state government is taking necessary measures to control potato prices and resolve the supply problem promptly.
The soaring prices of potatoes have caused significant distress among consumers, particularly affecting low-income and middle-class families who are struggling with the increased cost of living.
