Bhubaneswar, (Reporters pen), Aug 8: Odisha is expected to continue experiencing heavy rainfall over the next two days, as a cyclonic circulation has shifted to west Jharkhand and its vicinity, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The system, previously located over North Odisha, has already caused significant rainfall in the state for the past two days.
The IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) at isolated locations in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Balangir until 8:30 am on Friday, August 9. Bhubaneswar is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with a chance of moderate rain or thunderstorms.
Heavy rainfall is expected to persist at one or two locations in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is anticipated at many places in North Odisha and a few locations in South Odisha over the next three days. However, heavy rain may resume in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts on August 13. No further rain warnings have been issued beyond this period.
