Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 16: Odisha CM (Chief Minister) Mohan Charan Majhi began a four-day tour to Haryana and Maharashtra starting Wednesday. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Majhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-formed Haryana government in Chandigarh on October 17, followed by a meeting of chief ministers from NDA-ruled states later that evening.
On October 18, the Chief Minister will travel to Mumbai to participate in a conference on opportunities in India’s chemicals and petrochemicals sector, chaired by Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister J.P. Nadda.
As part of his agenda in Maharashtra, Majhi will also attend an ‘Investors Conference’ on October 19 and 20. These meetings will serve as preparatory groundwork for the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha Make in Odisha conclave, scheduled for January 28-29.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain emphasized the importance of Majhi’s participation in the chemicals sector meeting, given Odisha’s potential for attracting investments in areas like Paradip, Dhamra, and Gopalpur. Swain stated, “A high-level delegation from the Odisha government, led by the Chief Minister, will visit Mumbai to forge partnerships with business houses and showcase the investment opportunities available in the state.”
He added that over 300 investors, including prominent figures from sectors such as textiles, renewable energy, metal downstream, and manufacturing, have been invited to the roadshow in Mumbai.
