Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 25: Senior Odisha Administrative Service officer Deba Prasad Dash, who had been suspended since 2018, has been reinstated by the State government on Thursday.

According to a notification from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Dash has been appointed as Joint Secretary to the Government in the Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department. His reinstatement comes with the condition that he adheres to the Odisha Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1959.

Dash was suspended on May 28, 2018, while serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) by the then BJD government.

“I am thrilled to have received justice after a long wait of six years and two months. Despite repeated directives from the Supreme Court and Chief Secretaries, my suspension was not revoked. The current BJP government has granted me justice, and I am deeply grateful,” Dash said. He added, “My suspension was unwarranted, despite my dedicated and honest service. It has not only affected me but also caused distress to my elderly father and family members.”
