Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 12: During a visit to Odisha, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a jab at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), asserting that the regional party has become history in the state. Speaking to reporters upon his arrival for a two-day visit, Sarma claimed that the BJD is finished and has lost its relevance amid the growing popularity of the BJP.
Sarma expressed confidence in the BJP’s governance in Odisha, stating, “The BJP government is performing well, and we are set to remain in power for at least the next 50 years.” He emphasized the party’s commitment to serving the people of the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister condemned the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, asserting that no other country has provided protection to its minorities like India has. He also highlighted the need for the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to curb illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.
Upon his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Sarma received a warm welcome before proceeding to Puri to offer prayers at the Shree Jagannath Temple.
