odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 14: After returning from Delhi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi embarked on a three-day visit to his home district Keonjhar on Tuesday. The visit coincides with the ongoing Makar Sankranti celebrations.
Upon arriving at the Raisuan airstrip by special aircraft, Majhi took a holy dip in the Baitarani river at Anasuya Ghat in Patna, where grand arrangements were made to welcome him with traditional fanfare. He then visited the Parameswar Temple and offered prayers.
Following a brief rest at the circuit house, the Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate a bridge in Jhumpura block. He will also visit his native village Raikala before returning to Keonjhar for an overnight stay.
On Wednesday, Majhi will launch the social security pension scheme at Dharanidhar University ground. His itinerary also includes a visit to Barbil, where he will inaugurate a prayer mandap at Saraswati Shishu Vidyamandir and attend the silver jubilee celebrations of the Barbil festival.
The CM will depart for Bhubaneswar from Raisuan airstrip at 10:55 am on Thursday.
