Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 18 Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to begin a five-day visit to New Delhi and Rajasthan starting Thursday. This trip is anticipated to be significant, as the Chief Minister aims to engage in critical discussions that may impact the state’s interests.
On Thursday, Majhi will depart for Rajasthan, where he will attend several important meetings, including the 55th GST Council meeting scheduled for December 21 in Jaisalmer. The upcoming meeting will address pivotal topics, such as the GST framework for life and health insurance, tax rate rationalization, and potential revisions to GST slabs. Prior to this meeting, the Group of Ministers (GoM) on health insurance submitted recommendations to state and central revenue officials on December 16, which will be reviewed by the Council during the Jaisalmer session.
Following the discussions in Rajasthan, the Chief Minister will travel to New Delhi on December 21. In the national capital, he is expected to meet with Union Ministers and senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to deliberate on key issues concerning Odisha. Majhi is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar on December 23.
