According to official sources, the CRUT has launched a tender to select a bus operator responsible for the supply, operation, and maintenance of these double-decker electric buses under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model for a duration of 10 years, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) invites bids for the manufacture and supply of five air-conditioned double-decker electric buses, along with chargers and comprehensive maintenance for a period of 10+2 years. The selected private organization will be tasked with not only providing the buses but also ensuring their operation and maintenance, including the hiring of necessary staff. The CRUT aims to promote clean and green shared mobility through this project, utilizing green energy in its operations. The notification emphasizes that these buses will be deployed for tourism purposes and other designated routes throughout the state.
