Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 22: Dense fog was reported in Sundargarh, with shallow to moderate fog in Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts over the last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. The IMD has forecast similar foggy conditions in these regions for the next two days.
Meanwhile, Odisha saw a rise in night temperatures. G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district remained the coldest at 8°C, up from 7.4°C on Thursday and 6.2°C earlier in the week. Semiliguda in Koraput followed at 8.7°C, while Phulbani recorded 10°C. Daringbadi and Koraput registered 11°C each. In contrast, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 17°C and 16.8°C, respectively.
The IMD has also predicted the formation of a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23, which could intensify into a depression. However, different weather models vary in predictions about its strength and movement, with outcomes ranging from a deep depression to a low-pressure system.
