Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 14: In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi of Odisha in connection with its probe into an alleged bribery case involving Rs 10 lakh.

The CBI issued the summons to Sethi, who currently serves as the Principal Secretary in the State’s Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department. The notice, sent from the CBI’s headquarters in New Delhi on December 10, states that Sethi is believed to possess crucial information related to the ongoing investigation. The CBI letter reads, “It is learned that you are acquainted with important and relevant facts and circumstances of the case, which are required to be ascertained from you.”

Sethi, however, did not provide an immediate comment on the matter.

The summons directed Sethi to appear at the CBI office in Bhubaneswar on December 11 at 10 a.m. This development comes after the arrest of three individuals on December 6 in Bhubaneswar, who were allegedly involved in a bribery scheme related to the Rs 10 lakh seized by the CBI. The arrested individuals include Chanchal Kumar Mukherjee, Group General Manager of CPSU Bridge and Roof Construction Co (India) Ltd, contractor Santosh Maharana, and super-class contractor Debdatta Mahapatra. They are currently in CBI custody for further interrogation.
