odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 21: Forest officials have successfully rescued a massive Indian rock python from Rajendranarayanpur village, located near Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha’s Kendrapada district. The incident occurred on Friday when residents spotted the impressive 19-foot-long python in a farmland area and quickly alerted the forest department.

A team of forest officials promptly arrived on the scene to assist the distressed reptile. They managed to capture the python and placed it in a large iron cage for safe transport back to the Bhitarkanika premises. Upon examination, the python was found to have injury marks on its head, prompting the officials to provide immediate veterinary care. Fortunately, the animal was reported to be stable and recovering well, according to sources from the forest department.

Once the python fully regains its strength and health, it will be released back into Bhitarkanika National Park, allowing it to resume its natural life in the wild. A local resident shared their experience, stating, “We first noticed the python in our farmland, but it was hardly moving due to its injuries. We believe it may have strayed from the nearby forest. Thankfully, the forest staff acted quickly to rescue it.”
