Odisha News: Jharsuguda Airport to see new flights to Hyderabad, Raipur, and Lucknow

Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 13: Regional carrier Star Air is set to launch direct flights from Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda, Odisha, starting January 1, 2025, with services to Hyderabad.

This new route is part of a broader initiative to enhance connectivity in western Odisha and follows the airline’s recent announcement to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft over the next three years. The expansion is aligned with the government’s UDAN scheme, which aims to connect remote areas at affordable rates.

In addition to the Hyderabad route, Star Air plans to introduce flights to Raipur and Lucknow from Jharsuguda. The flights between Hyderabad and Raipur, as well as Hyderabad and Lucknow, will connect via Jharsuguda, further facilitating travel options for passengers in the region.

Star Air announced the fare for the Jharsuguda-Hyderabad route starting at just Rs 3,999. Flights from Raipur to Jharsuguda will begin on February 1, with fares beginning at Rs 2,399. Initially, flights will operate on Mondays and Sundays, with increased frequencies starting February, including additional flights on weekdays.
