Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 11: The Odisha government is set to commence work on the much-anticipated flyover connecting Jayadev Vihar and Nandan Kanan in Bhubaneswar. Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced today that the project has received official approval, clearing the way for technical work to begin.

Once completed, the flyover will seamlessly integrate with the existing national highway flyover at Jayadev Vihar, ensuring a smoother traffic flow towards Nandan Kanan. To enhance accessibility, the flyover will feature strategically placed escape routes at key intersections, allowing commuters to exit conveniently without congestion.

The project’s design prioritizes both efficiency and safety, incorporating a four-lane elevated roadway above the existing stretch. Officials expect this new infrastructure to become a crucial link in Bhubaneswar’s growing transportation network, reducing travel time and easing congestion on one of the city’s busiest routes.

The government has set an ambitious timeline, aiming to complete a significant portion of the project by 2027-28. With its completion, the flyover is expected to significantly improve connectivity and urban mobility in the capital city.
