Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 18: A massive fire broke out at an organic food factory in the Kodala area of Ganjam district, Odisha, on Wednesday, causing extensive damage and reducing products, raw materials, packaging materials, and machinery worth crores of rupees to ashes.
The fire erupted at Tej Agro factory, owned by Jagannath Sahu, destroying a wide range of food items, including cakes, snacks, bread, and soft drinks. Eyewitnesses reported that the blaze rapidly engulfed the facility, resulting in significant loss of inventory and equipment essential for production.
Upon receiving alerts from local residents, fire service personnel from Kodala rushed to the scene to combat the raging inferno. After nearly two hours of intense firefighting efforts, they managed to bring the fire under control. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done, with the factory suffering extensive destruction.
While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, preliminary inquiries suggest that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze. The Kodala police have launched a formal investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating fire.
