odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 13: Night temperatures across Odisha rose marginally over the past 24 hours, though they remained low, with the mercury hovering around 13°C in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district continued to record the lowest minimum temperature at 7.2°C, up by 2.4°C in the last two days. Semiliguda in Koraput followed with 9.1°C, while Phulbani and Daringbadi recorded 10°C each. Other locations included Angul at 10.1°C, about 3°C below normal, and Rourkela at 11.9°C.
In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, night temperatures were recorded at 13.4°C and 13.5°C respectively, slightly higher than Sunday’s 13.2°C and 12.8°C. Bhubaneswar recorded its season’s lowest temperature of 12.7°C on January 4, while Cuttack dipped to 12.4°C the same day.
Phulbani also experienced dense fog, reducing visibility below 200 meters. Shallow fog was reported in Paradip, Sundargarh, Bhawanipatna, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur.
The IMD has issued a dense fog alert for Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Koraput districts until January 15 morning, with shallow to moderate fog expected in Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Cuttack, and Khurda until January 16.
