odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 14: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a drop in night temperatures across Odisha by 2-3 degrees Celsius after three days. Over the past 24 hours, the mercury has risen in many parts of the state.
Daringbadi in Kandhamal recorded the lowest temperature at 9.5°C, followed by G Udayagiri at 10.2°C, showing an increase of almost 6 degrees over the past three days. Other cold spots included Semiliguda in Koraput (11.2°C), Phulbani (11.5°C), and Rourkela (11.7°C). G Udayagiri had seen the steepest drop earlier, recording 7.2°C on Monday, 5.2°C on Sunday, and 4.8°C on Saturday.
In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, temperatures hovered around 16.7°C and 15.5°C respectively, rising from around 13°C over the past few days. Bhubaneswar recorded 13.4°C on Monday and 13.2°C on Sunday, while Cuttack registered 13.5°C on Monday and 12.8°C on Sunday.
The IMD has also forecast dense fog in isolated areas of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Bhadrak districts until January 16 morning. Additionally, shallow to moderate fog may occur in parts of Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati until January 17 morning.
