Odisha news: Odisha braces for temperature rise after sudden cold spell, IMD issues fog warning

Odisha news: Bhubaneswar,(Reporterspen) Feb 11: After a sharp decline in temperatures over the past few days, Odisha is expected to witness a gradual rise in temperature, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Monday.

According to the midday weather bulletin from the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the minimum (night) temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, with no major change expected thereafter.

The rise in night temperatures has already been observed in several parts of the state since Sunday. In Rourkela, the temperature climbed to 9.6°C in the last 24 hours, compared to 8.8°C the previous night, which had marked a steep drop of 9.2°C. G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal remained the coldest place in the state at 9°C, followed by Phulbani at 9.5°C.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 17.9°C and 18°C, respectively. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, and Dhenkanal over the next 24 hours.
