Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 10: The Odisha government is fully prepared to ensure the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention, taking place in the state capital from January 8 to 10, is a resounding success. As part of the extensive arrangements being made for this significant event, the government is committed to providing comfortable home-stay and hotel accommodations for the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) attending the convention.
To facilitate these accommodations, the Odisha Tourism Department has reserved 200 hotels, offering over 3,700 rooms across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri, as confirmed by Tourism Secretary Balwant Singh. Additionally, families selected to host the visiting NRIs have received training in guest management and safety protocols, ensuring that the Indian diaspora enjoys an authentic experience of Odisha’s domestic atmosphere, culture, and traditions.
In light of recent cyber fraud incidents related to hotel bookings, the state government has urged delegates to book accommodations through a dedicated website, ‘https://pbdindia.gov.in.’ Furthermore, the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has prepared tour packages for NRI delegates wishing to explore the state’s attractions. Thirty tourist destinations have been shortlisted, including popular sites in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Konark, Chilika-Satapada, and the crafts village of Raghurajpur.
