Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 14: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested S Partha Sarathi Bisoi, an accountant-cum-data entry operator (ADEO) of Batasana gram panchayat in Koraput’s Kotpad block, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The arrest followed extensive raids conducted on Thursday at seven locations linked to Bisoi in Koraput district. Vigilance officials uncovered a staggering amount of wealth, including three buildings, 16 plots, a cashew processing unit, and multiple vehicles. In addition, gold jewelry, silver ornaments, and a significant amount of cash were seized during the operation.
According to the Vigilance department, Bisoi failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the assets in his and his family members’ names. The seized properties include a triple-storey building over 4,500 sq ft in Boriguma, another 2,400 sq ft building in Champia village, and a cashew processing unit spanning 8,561 sq ft. Authorities also recovered Rs 2.45 lakh in cash, 285 grams of gold, and various agricultural and construction machinery, including tractors, paddy thrashers, and a Bolero SUV.
Bisoi was arrested following detailed interrogation, and further investigation is underway.
