Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 8: A tragic incident unfolded in the Kukudakhandi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district, where a young girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire. Reports indicate that the girl poured kerosene on herself late Monday night and succumbed to her injuries the following morning while receiving treatment.
The incident occurred along the road near the Kukudakhandi block office, where local residents swiftly intervened to rescue her and rushed her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
While the police have registered a case, the exact reason behind this heartbreaking act remains unclear. Preliminary investigations suggest that the young woman may have taken this drastic step due to domestic issues.
Originally from the Ambpua area, she had been residing in a rented house near the block office and was reportedly a college student. In the wake of the incident, the police have detained her father for questioning as they continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.
