Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 11: In a shocking incident in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, a police officer was allegedly attacked by his family members after being caught in a compromising situation with a young woman at his barrack quarters on the Kotagarh police station premises.
The officer, Kuber Digal, who serves as the In-charge of the Subarnagiri police outpost and is due to retire in two months, was reportedly involved in an illicit relationship with a 19-year-old woman.
The incident occurred late Monday evening when Digal’s wife and other family members unexpectedly arrived at the barrack. In a panic, the young woman jumped from the roof of the quarters and sustained serious injuries. Both she and Digal were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment by Kotagada Police. The woman was subsequently handed over to her family after receiving medical care.
While no formal complaint has been filed at the Kotagada police station, the Kandhamal Superintendent of Police has ordered an investigation into the matter. As of now, Digal has not publicly commented on the allegations against him.
