odisha news:Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 24: Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced on Tuesday that the sale of part plots will become streamlined starting January 2025. This initiative aims to facilitate smoother transactions and clarify existing regulations surrounding part plot sales in the state.
Minister Pujari stated that the state government is prepared to amend the Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Act (RERA) if necessary, to ensure that these sales are efficient and straightforward. A meeting of the RERA committee is scheduled for December 31 to discuss potential changes. “Previously, we instructed the RERA committee to explore methods for simplifying the sale of part plots and to draft proposals for any required amendments to RERA laws,” he noted.
Additionally, the Minister mentioned that the government might revise the Development Authority Act or provide clarifications on certain provisions that have caused confusion in the past. He acknowledged that some ambiguous terms within the Act need to be clearly defined or removed altogether.
Regarding previously sold part plots, Pujari revealed that 31 District Registrars or Sub-Registrars who had facilitated these transactions have been identified, and their actions are under review. If any illegal sales are discovered, appropriate actions will be taken against those responsible. This proactive approach reflects the government’s commitment to improving land transaction processes and ensuring transparency in the real estate sector.
