odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 30: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Monday that 2025 will be a pivotal year for the Subhadra scheme, as the Odisha government plans to disburse funds under the initiative three times next year. She stated that the fourth-phase assistance of the first installment will be released before March 8, followed by two additional installments on International Women’s Day (March 8) and Raksha Bandhan.

Parida, who also oversees the Women and Child Development portfolio, mentioned that a field survey is expected to be completed by December 30, allowing the government to gain a clearer understanding of the situation by the first week of January. This will help ensure that no eligible beneficiaries are omitted from the final list.

Regarding the delays in fund disbursement, Parida explained that the data is being meticulously compiled to assess the scheme’s impact on the ground. Efforts are underway to address any complaints related to beneficiaries being excluded, ensuring that all eligible women receive the benefits.

The first installment of Rs 5,000 has already been credited to approximately 80 lakh beneficiaries through Aadhaar-enabled, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) linked bank accounts in three phases. However, the distribution of the fourth phase funds, initially scheduled for December 25, was postponed due to pending e-KYC verification for 5.11 lakh applications. The state government aims to cover one crore beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme.
