odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 11: Prohibitory orders have been implemented in Balasore town, Odisha, starting Saturday, as part of an eviction drive aimed at removing unauthorized structures and illegal encroachments obstructing a railway line.
According to official sources, the curfew will be in effect for 18 hours, from 4 AM on Saturday to 10 PM on Sunday, in several key areas, including Arad Bazaar to Pariba Market, Haripur to Darji Pokhari Chhak, Kasimila Bridge to Fuladi Chhak, and the vicinity of the Nuabazaar Railway Gate.
During this period, all forms of gatherings, meetings, and processions have been strictly prohibited to maintain public order.
The district administration has issued a notice outlining the curfew and has implemented stringent measures to clear encroachments in Jadupur, Aktiarpur, and Bhaskarganj mouzas. Reports indicate that unauthorized structures have been obstructing the construction of a third railway line.
Eviction notices were distributed well in advance, and the curfew serves as a precaution to ensure law and order during the operation. The third railway line, running from Narayangarh in Paschim Medinipur (West Bengal) to Bhadrak, aims to alleviate traffic and improve connectivity in the region.
