Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 16: As the launch of the Subhadra Yojana approaches, the Odisha government has issued a warning to women beneficiaries about potential cyber fraud. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida urged people to be vigilant against scams ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of the scheme on Tuesday.
Reports have surfaced of cyber fraudsters deceiving individuals by sending fraudulent links or making misleading phone calls under the guise of the Subhadra Yojana. Parida clarified that the Odisha government is not sending any links or making phone calls to beneficiaries.
She highlighted a case where someone lost approximately Rs 12,000 to such scams. To protect themselves, beneficiaries should avoid clicking on any unsolicited links and should not share personal details, such as OTPs, with anyone over the phone.
“People must stay alert. The government is not sending any phone calls or links for the Subhadra Yojana. Funds will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts,” Deputy Chief Minister Parida emphasized.
