Odisha’s ‘Kutumba’ scheme to support families of freedom fighters

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 9: In a significant announcement, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed on Friday that the state government will soon launch a pension scheme under the ‘Kutumba’ initiative for the families of freedom fighters.

This scheme is designed to offer financial support to the descendants of those who played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for independence from British colonial rule.

Speaking on Kranti Divas, which commemorates the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, Chief Minister Majhi acknowledged the longstanding demand for such a program. He assured the public that the government is in the process of finalizing the details and framework for the scheme’s implementation.

This initiative is intended as a tribute to the freedom fighters of Odisha, honoring their immense sacrifices and contributions to India’s independence. The move aims to provide lasting recognition and support to the families of these unsung heroes, ensuring their legacy is remembered and valued.
