Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 16: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) lodged a complaint at Singhadwar police station in Puri, Odisha, on Tuesday regarding the alleged unauthorized presence of non-servitors on the chariots of the sibling deities during Rath Yatra.

The complaint, filed by SJTA’s OSD (Development) Ajaya Kumar Jena, seeks strict action against individuals who were not authorized to be on the chariots of Lord Jagannath and His sibling during the procession. This action, according to the complaint, violated the established guidelines aimed at ensuring the orderly conduct of Rath Yatra.

Submitted alongside the complaint were photographs, a pen drive containing two video clips, and a copy of the Byabasthabali (guidelines) for Rath Yatra 2024. The incident in question reportedly occurred on July 7 and 8, with non-servitors allegedly observed atop the chariots and seated on the wheels.

The complaint urged the authorities to identify those involved and take appropriate action as per regulations. Additionally, it requested verification of the identities of individuals seen on the chariots for further communication to their superiors to initiate necessary disciplinary measures.
