Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 17: PM Modi Narendra Modi emphasized that empowering women is crucial for Odisha’s development, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will drive the state’s rapid growth.
Speaking to a large crowd during the launch of the Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana, Modi highlighted that the new scheme, introduced by the BJP-led state government, will benefit over one crore women. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive Rs 50,000 in instalments.
Modi praised Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his team for their efforts, describing Majhi as a “popular” leader and commending his ministers for delivering on election promises and engaging with the public.
The Prime Minister underscored that a nation’s progress accelerates when half of its population—its women—are actively involved. He drew a parallel to Odisha’s folklore, noting that the presence of Goddess Subhadra alongside Lord Jagannath symbolizes the importance of women’s empowerment.
Recalling his participation in the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government, Modi reminded the people that he had promised a “double-engine” government would drive Odisha towards progress and prosperity.
