PM Modi to unveil Subhadra Yojana in Odisha on September 17

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make a day trip to Odisha on September 17, sources confirmed on Wednesday. He will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 11:35 am via an IAF aircraft from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Following his arrival, the Prime Minister will head to Janata Maidan to attend the launch event for the Subhadra Yojana and other development projects. The event is scheduled to take place between noon and 1 pm. Modi will depart for Delhi at 1:25 pm.

This visit marks the Prime Minister’s first trip to Odisha since June 12, when he and senior BJP officials attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government led by Mohan Majhi in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha government has chosen Modi’s birthday to unveil the Subhadra Yojana, which has received over Rs 55,000 crore in budgetary support. The scheme, aimed at benefiting over 1 crore women aged 21 to 60, will provide annual assistance of Rs 10,000 over the next five years.

The initial payment of Rs 5,000 will be made on Rakhi Purnima and International Women’s Day each year through direct benefit transfer. Implemented between the 2024-25 and 2028-29 financial years, beneficiaries will also receive a Subhadra debit card issued by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
