Police Commissioner :Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 1: A day after taking office, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S. Debadatta Singh took decisive action on Tuesday, emphasizing that performance will be a key criterion for police personnel in the twin cities. In a statement to reporters, Singh hinted at potential disciplinary actions for officers who do not meet performance expectations, stating that a thorough review of officers overstaying in their posts will be conducted.
Singh highlighted the Odisha government’s mandate for 24/7 assistance and justice from the police force, reassuring the public that staff will be available at police stations at all times to respond to emergencies.
“I will assess how long officers are stationed in specific locations and determine the force’s requirements. Appropriate actions will follow this review,” he said.
In addition to performance, Singh stressed the importance of honesty, integrity, and delivering justice to the community. On the topic of installing CCTV cameras in police stations, he confirmed that the process has begun per Supreme Court directives. However, he noted that the installation of new police stations necessitates collaboration with agencies responsible for relocating existing equipment.
