Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 6: Following a series of recent burglaries in the Pipili and Balianta areas, another significant theft occurred in the Pahala region of Bhubaneswar.
This latest incident took place at the Sunrise Sarovar Apartment, located under the jurisdiction of the Pahal Police Station. The robbers specifically targeted two flats owned by employees of a multinational company and a bank, taking advantage of the fact that no one was present in either apartment at the time.
Using tools to break the door hinges, the thieves made off with cash and gold valued at several lakhs of rupees. The entire episode was captured on CCTV, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation. Upon receiving reports of the incident, Pahal police swiftly arrived at the scene and initiated an inquiry into the matter.
The frequency of apartment burglaries in the capital city has been steadily increasing, with looters increasingly focusing on houses and flats situated on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. In a concerning trend, these recent thefts have occurred across three police station jurisdictions in just three days, posing a significant challenge to law enforcement in the area.
